Christmas on the Field Monster Raffle

Woombye’s growing Christmas on the Field event has been cancelled due to COVID this year but the fundraising for 2021 is gaining pace.

The event was started by organiser Di Parker and her team as a way to provide entertainment and activities for kids at Christmas. It’s held at Woombye Snakes Football Ovals.

“It’s all about the kids when it comes to Christmas ... That’s why we formed, to do something for the local families and try to keep costs down,” said Di. “A good friend, Chris Poole, and I decided to do it one Friday night six years ago and it’s taken off from there.”

In the name of keeping costs down the Christmas on the Field team are raffling a collection of great prizes which will be won in multiple draws. Prizes include two wheelbarrows full of gifts, two bikes courtesy of Bendigo Bank, eight hams and “whatever else is yet to be donated”.

The wheelbarrows are on display at Woombye and Palmwoods Spar supermarkets, where you can purchase tickets for $2 each drawn December 14.

The team will be in town Saturday morning selling tickets in person.
